As per ICBC’s reciprocity program, you can exchange your South Korean Driver’s licence with a B.C. driver’s licence as long as you obtain a certified translation of your South Korean driver’s licence and submit it to an ICBC office.
This translation must be completed by an approved translator.
It is proof that you are eligible to drive. It also provides you with the most common form of official identification, and includes your name, address, date of birth and height. Plus, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia—which is responsible for driver licensing—requires that a driver’s licence in a language other than English must be translated by an ICBC-approved translator within 90 days of moving to B.C. JLC’s founder is an ICBC-approved translator.
